Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pip worth?

For a standard lot (100,000 units) on a USD-quoted forex pair, one pip is worth about $10. A mini lot (0.1) is about $1 per pip, and a micro lot (0.01) about $0.10 per pip.

How is pip value calculated?

Pip value = lot size x pip value per standard lot. For non-USD-quoted pairs you adjust by the exchange rate of the quote currency to your account currency.

Why does pip value matter?

It converts pip-based stop-losses and targets into real money, which is what position sizing and risk management actually depend on.
